Days pass more quickly than we realize. Even the things that happened today begin to fade after only a few days. Yet the crooked drawings and short sentences in the picture diaries we kept as children can still bring back the atmosphere and emotions of a particular day years later. Somewhere along the way, many of us stopped recording our days. Scene of the Day is a notebook created to help preserve ordinary moments. A memorable lunch, a landscape glimpsed by chance, a passing thought that appeared for only a moment. Perhaps recording the things that would otherwise disappear is one way of holding on to a day a little longer.

하루는 생각보다 빠르게 지나갑니다. 분명 오늘 있었던 일인데도 며칠만 지나면 흐릿해집니다. 어릴 적 그렸던 그림일기에 삐뚤빼뚤한 그림과 짧은 문장만으로도 그날의 공기와 감정이 오래 남아 있습니다. 하지만 어른이 된 우리는 하루를 기록하는 일을 조금씩 잊고 살아갑니다. 하루의 장면은 평범한 하루를 오래 기억해두기 위한 노트입니다. 맛있게 먹은 점심 한 끼, 우연히 본 풍경, 문득 떠오른 생각 하나. 사라질 것들을 기록하는 일은 하루를 조금 더 오래 기억하는 방법일지도 모릅니다.
