The typeface was developed from the visual language of folded blankets, padded edges, and blocky geometric forms. Rounded curves and strong structures coexist throughout the letterforms, balancing softness and weight within a compact silhouette. The name “DUTUM” comes from the Korean word 두툼, which means thick or chunky. Built as an experimental display typeface, DUTUM is designed for posters, branding, headlines, and graphic compositions.

DUTUM은 두껍고, 부드럽고, 묵직한 감각에서 출발한 디스플레이 서체입니다. 접힌 이불의 형태와 두툼한 단면, 그리고 각진 기하학적 구조에서 영감을 받아 제작되었습니다. 둥근 곡선과 단단한 구조가 공존하며, 부드러움과 무게감이 하나의 실루엣 안에서 균형을 이루도록 설계했습니다. ‘DUTUM’이라는 이름은 한국어 단어인 ‘두툼’에서 가져왔습니다. 포스터, 브랜딩, 헤드라인, 그래픽 작업 등을 위한 실험적인 디스플레이 서체로 제작되었습니다.
